Since no one has posted this up yet I decided that I will. What do you guys think about allowing Oscar Pistoriusu think in the 2012 Olympics. Furthermore how do you think this will revolutionize the sports industry?
Ok i am pretty sure we all had a Law & Order session about this in class. Well anyways I think that they should let him compete (if hes fast enough to make the team). Maybe this will revolutionize the sports industry. But then again, I am not a fortune teller! I can't predict the future!
-The legs are too long. -They return more energy with each stride (bounce more) -Less investment of energy with running -No metabolite or lactic acid build-up; a big advantage over others.
Disadvantages:
-His coach claimed that his artificial legs return 80% of energy; yet the human leg returned 220%.
~THE BIG STATEMENT~ Determined by Gert-Peter Brüggemann, a german scientist, in 2007. When Oscar ran at the same speed, he used 25% less energy than those with natural legs. However, Oscar claims they didn't add in all the variables.
I don't really know myself. Maybe the sports industry might rise up to greater heights?
