The end of the world... Not global warming?

http://news.blogs.cnn.com/2010/12/11/new-metal-eating-bacteria-found-on-titanic/

It isn't global warming, it isn't the market crash of 2063, but I was reading a magazine-newspaper article that pointed this out. I did some online research, and things looked scary! Halomonas titanicae, a metal-eating bacteria, recently spotted on the Titanic's ruins, eats metal and threatens the whole world if risen from the depths of the ocean! It didn't look removable, so scientists pondered on what to do! If this bacteria is not to be thwarted, the fate of the cities may crumble, literally!

These are the Titanic's ruins!
Will this bacteria rise ashore?

  2. Just think if this thing multiplies! And think what else could be at the bottom of the ocean!
We have only discovered 10% of the ocean too!

It will definitely multiply if it reaches the surface and beyond. And the titanic is a long food source.

The Earth has been around for billions and billions of years and man made metals have been used in mass consumption since at least the beginning of the industrial revolution in 1765 . I think that the likely hood of these things coming up to the surface and destroying our cities is very improbable considering metal has been around for at least the past two century. If they were going to do anything they would have already done it or at least we would see signs of it happening.
